Tottenham suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat at home to Vítor Pereira's Nottingham Forest this Sunday, severely complicating their fight for Premier League survival. The match was seen as crucial, but goals from Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Taiwo Awoniyi sealed the visitors' victory.
The situation was made even more bitter for the North London club by the fact that Gibbs-White, one of the goalscorers, had been a transfer target for the Spurs in the summer. Fan frustration was palpable, with many leaving the stadium after the second goal in the 62nd minute.
With this result, Tottenham remains the only Premier League team without a win in 2026, accumulating five draws and eight losses. This negative streak of 13 winless league games equals a club record from 1912. Only once in their top-flight history have the Spurs had a worse run, going 16 games without a win between 1934 and 1935.
In the standings, Tottenham dropped to 17th place, just one point above Nuno Espírito Santo's West Ham, the first team in the relegation zone, who also lost this weekend to Aston Villa (2-0). Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest climbed to 16th, now two points clear of the Spurs, with seven games remaining in the season.
Manager Igor Tudor's future also appears increasingly uncertain. In his first seven games in charge, he has already accumulated five defeats, with only one win and one draw. The victory came in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 against Atletico Madrid, and along with a draw against Liverpool, it likely bought the coach some extra time in the role.
Tottenham's next three fixtures include an away trip to Sunderland, a home game against Brighton, and a visit to Wolverhampton.
