The second Moto3 race of the season turned into a fiercely contested five-lap sprint after a red flag halted proceedings due to a heavy crash involving Scott Ogden on lap 15.
Prior to that, race leader Joel Esteban and championship frontrunner David Almansa had both crashed out, while Quiles, despite starting 11th, had masterfully worked his way to the front.
He held a four-second lead when the race was stopped. Upon the restart, Quiles maintained his position at the front, closely pursued by his CF Moto Aspar teammate Marco Morelli. Rookie Veda Pratama (Honda) rounded out the podium in third.
Quiles ultimately clinched the victory with a narrow 0.145-second margin, while Pratama finished over 1.6 seconds behind the winner.
