It was another cracking Sunday for the Super Eagles contingent at Fulham, who edged out a struggling Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 at Craven Cottage.

Playmaker Alex Iwobi once again stole the show, netting for the second consecutive Premier League match and piling further pressure on Spurs' precarious league position.

Fulham vs Spurs: The Lowdown

Fulham dominated proceedings at Craven Cottage, turning Spurs' interim boss Igor Tudor's tactical plans into a nightmare from the first whistle.

The opener saw Harry Wilson pounce on a loose ball to make it 1–0, after VAR controversially allowed play to continue despite a clear push by Raul Jimenez on Radu Dragusin.

Iwobi's stunning strike sealed a 2–0 half-time lead for the Cottagers before super-sub Richarlison offered the visitors a glimmer of hope, heading home an Archie Gray cross for Spurs.

However, the reinstated Bassey-led defence repelled a frantic late onslaught to ensure all three points remained at the Cottage.

The Nigerian Influence

In the form of his life, Iwobi doubled Fulham's lead in the 34th minute with a magnificent first-time strike from the edge of the box.

Following a neat one-two with Harry Wilson, he unleashed a rocket that kissed the post before beating Guglielmo Vicario. He now boasts four goals and three assists this season.

Defender Calvin Bassey played a full 90 minutes of near-perfection, highlighted by a miraculous sliding block to deny Randal Kolo Muani in the first half.

He almost scored himself, volleying over from close range just before half-time, while substitute Samuel Chukwueze, who replaced Wilson in the 72nd minute, brought fresh legs and nearly set up Iwobi for a third late on.

Iwobi's Post-Match Reaction

Fulham's Nigerian hero reflected on the London derby victory in an interview with the Premier League.

"Another London derby and it's a special moment when we play in front of our fans. We're chuffed to get the result today. The scoreline makes it look like a tight game, but we felt we controlled it and had so many chances. We didn't take them all, so it got a bit nervy towards the end, but we managed to stay strong."

On his latest goal: "Unique," he added. "I don't think anyone else opens up their hip and hits it like that. When the ball was laid back, I only had one thought in my mind, and I found the far corner. It's something I do in training, so my teammates aren't surprised."
