Breezy Johnson will undoubtedly remember February 8, 2026, for the rest of her life, as today she realized her dream and became an Olympic champion in the women's downhill event at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Games.

For the American, this marked only her second major success on the world stage, following her triumph in the same discipline at the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm a year prior. Interestingly, the women's downhill event also took place on February 8 then, making this date even more special for the 30-year-old skier from Wyoming.

In her Alpine Ski World Cup career, Johnson has yet to secure a single victory, with only nine podium finishes to her name. Eight of these were achieved in the downhill discipline, and on January 31 of this year, she finished third in the Super-G in Crans Montana, which will host next year's Alpine Ski World Championships.
