Manchester City remains firmly in the Premier League title race. This Saturday, Pep Guardiola's side defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, overturning a stunning Szoboszlai goal in a second half that hadn't initially gone their way.

Bernardo Silva paved the way for the comeback with a goal in the 84th minute, and after the final whistle, the Citizens' manager once again heaped praise on the Portuguese international. "Liverpool had the upper hand [in the second half] and Szoboszlai's free-kick... What a shot. What a player. In the end, what belief from our captain. That character, that personality, never giving up... We managed to turn it around," the Catalan coach remarked.

Guardiola felt City "played well in the first half," but admitted they lacked a certain volume of goal-scoring opportunities. As for the second half, he adopted a rather... pedagogical stance: "It's happened many times. We aren't consistent for the full 90 minutes, but we're fighting to improve. We've been in this position many times, because perhaps we're not entirely ready yet. Maybe in a month, we'll be ready."

Anticipating "a bright future" for the young squad he manages, Pep emphasized his desire to compete for the Premier League title until the very last drop. "We have many good things to fight for. We are six points behind. Yes, it's a big gap, but a lot can happen," the coach concluded.
