Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson has for the first time addressed reports from the final day of the winter transfer window linking Sandro Tonali with Arsenal. "The Athletic" had revealed that the midfielder's agents had offered him to the Gunners. While a transfer of such magnitude and unexpected nature couldn't materialize on the last day of the window, rumors suggest there might be new developments this summer.
When asked if these reports were true, David Hopkinson admitted: "I have no idea. That's our answer. Eddie Howe was right when he said he didn't know. I don't know either. What I do know for sure is that he's a superstar and he's under contract with us. Sandro isn't our only player that other clubs would desire. Sandro is a wonderful footballer, his smile brightens every day when I see him, I believe he's happy here and we are certainly happy with him," Hopkinson commented.
