Tottenham's Sporting Director, Johan Lange, has declared the club harbors significant ambitions for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The North London club faced criticism for their lack of new signings in January, especially given their ongoing injury crisis. The only additions during the winter window were midfielder Conor Gallagher and teenager Souza, while the club controversially sold their top scorer from the start of the season, Brennan Johnson, to Crystal Palace.

“When we reached January, we didn't anticipate having so many injuries throughout the month. Naturally, this altered our approach to the transfer window. It's crucial to remain disciplined, firstly because players will return from their injuries, and secondly, if you sign players under pressure just because you need them immediately, that momentary feeling is pleasant, but we don't need players who won't contribute in the short, medium, or long term,” explained Johan Lange in an interview with the club's official website, as reported by Sky Sports.

“Although injuries are very frustrating, most players will return this season, and some will do so quite soon. So, it's important for us as a club to stay disciplined and do everything possible to only bring in players who will help us now or in the future,” the Dane added.

“The summer transfer window is when eight or nine out of ten players change clubs, so we will approach it with great ambition to strengthen the squad. We know there will be movement and more opportunities, so the plans are already laid out. We have a clear picture of which positions to reinforce and what type of players we need,” Lange stated.

Tottenham currently sits 14th in the Premier League with 29 points after 24 rounds, 24 points behind their fierce rivals Arsenal, who lead the standings, and 9 points clear of the relegation zone.
