Crystal Palace have reportedly rejected an offer from Juventus for their top scorer, Jean-Philippe Mateta, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Old Lady's intention was to bring in the striker on a loan deal worth €2 million, with an option to buy for an additional €28 million, contingent on the team qualifying for at least the Europa League by the end of the season. However, the French international's asking price is €40 million, and the London club is only open to a permanent transfer. According to Nicolo Schira, new talks between the two clubs are scheduled for Monday, with the Bianconeri having already reached an agreement with the 28-year-old player.
This season, Mateta has featured in 33 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions. Meanwhile, Jonathan David and Loïs Openda continue to struggle to fill the void left by the heavily injured Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract with Juventus is set to expire in the summer and will not be renewed.
