Chelsea are reportedly interested in West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá, who appears set to leave the Hammers during the January transfer window. The Brazilian has 18 months left on his current contract, and it's understood his desire is to return to his homeland. Flamengo have shown interest and have even reportedly agreed personal terms with the player. According to Ben Jacobs, West Ham rejected the Rubro-Negro's initial offer, which was said to be around 40 million euros.
Brazilian journalist Renan Moura reports that Chelsea are keen to sign the 28-year-old midfielder, who was on the verge of a move to Manchester City in 2023, but the deal collapsed due to an FA investigation launched against him.
This season, Lucas Paquetá has registered four goals and one assist in 18 Premier League appearances.
New Chelsea manager Liam Rossinier is looking to strengthen the midfield to boost the Blues' chances of securing a Champions League spot next season.
Aston Villa and Tottenham also hold an interest in Paquetá, but for now, his sole wish is to return to Brazil.
