Yoel Romero is still set to compete at RAF 5, but it won't be against Bo Nickal, as the Cuban failed to make weight.

The highly anticipated co-main event of the RAF 5 gala has been canceled. Organizers announced Saturday morning that Yoel Romero failed to meet the required weight for the unified light heavyweight wrestling championship match against current UFC fighter and reigning RAF champion in the same division, Bo Nickal. Due to Romero's weigh-in failure, Nickal will not participate in the event and has been declared the undisputed champion.

Romero has been stripped of his interim title but remains on the event card. He will now face Steven Buchanan, who also failed to make weight for his scheduled bout against Pat Downey. Similar to Nickal, Downey has also been pulled from Saturday's wrestling gala.

This marks the second time the planned encounter between Nickal and Romero has fallen through. Initially, the two were slated to wrestle at RAF 4, but the American withdrew then. Despite this, Romero competed and secured a dominant 12-0 technical fall victory over Downey in his first freestyle wrestling match in over 20 years.

Unfortunately, the second attempt to organize a clash between Romero and Nickal on the mat also proved unsuccessful. Furthermore, RAF Featherweight Champion Jordan Oliver failed to make weight for his planned title defense rematch against Real Woods and was also stripped of his belt. Their match, however, will proceed as scheduled, and if Woods wins, he will become the new champion.

The RAF 5 gala will be broadcast exclusively on FOX Nation, with the main event featuring a clash between Colby Covington and Luke Rockhold. See the updated fight card below.
