Fabio Di Giannantonio was one of three riders competing with the Ducati Desmosedici GP25 during the 2025 MotoGP season, alongside the Italian manufacturer's factory riders, Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia.
Of the three, only Marquez managed to tame this machine, which proved very challenging for both Italian riders. Their primary difficulties stemmed from a lack of sufficient front-end feel, which undermined their confidence during braking and corner entry.
A seemingly simple solution to Bagnaia and Di Giannantonio's struggles would have been to simply copy Marquez's settings. However, according to Di Giannantonio, this approach isn't entirely viable, as setup choices depend on both the bike's characteristics and each rider's individual riding style.
“The problem is that every rider works, searches, and rides differently. Believe me, I study other riders and try to improve where I see they are better than me. But I can never fully adopt their working or riding style. You can copy settings, but riding with them is a completely different thing. If I copy Marc, I'll be last, 100%. What matters is what you want from the bike, from the team, what you need to feel good, to push, and to trust the bike to be fast. It's not easy. It's not as simple as saying Pecco needs to ride better or that nothing should be changed. It's not always like that. I want to defend Pecco a bit; sometimes things aren't just about him. Maybe they're just looking for the wrong thing. That's it. It's different. But Pecco certainly hasn't forgotten how to ride,” Di Giannantonio explained.
