Chelsea has announced an investigation to identify the individual who threw liquid towards the Aston Villa bench following their defeat at Stamford Bridge. Shortly after the final whistle, an object resembling a water bottle was hurled at the visiting team's technical staff and players as they celebrated their dramatic victory.

Currently, it remains unclear whether Aston Villa reported the incident to Chelsea, the Premier League match delegate, or both. However, the league organizing body is aware of the event, although any disciplinary proceedings would be conducted by the Football Association.

While several eyewitnesses saw the liquid land on members of the Aston Villa contingent, it was not clear who threw it or from where. The two teams' dugouts are situated a short distance from each other, flanking the tunnel, directly in front of fans in the lower tier of the East Stand. This area includes high-cost seating, such as the "Dugout Club" seats located behind the Chelsea bench.
