The traditional Formula 1 drivers' dinner, a customary event before the season's final race, took place yesterday, with 17 of the competitors in attendance.
The three drivers who were absent were Nico Hülkenberg and Aston Martin teammates Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. It remains unclear why each of them opted not to participate in the dinner, an event they have attended in the past.
It is also still unknown whether the drivers split the bill or if it was covered by just one of them. In previous years, Lewis Hamilton has on several occasions picked up the entire tab for this dinner.
