From the 4,000-strong German town of Zinnowitz, numerous champions have embarked on their journey to the global boxing summit, including Arthur Abraham and the brothers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.

The venue proudly displays photographs of the sport's greatest legends. Among them, Kubrat Pulev's image shines brightly. Currently, "The Cobra" is undergoing his training right there.

On December 12th in Dubai, the Bulgarian fighter will defend his WBA (World Boxing Association) regular world heavyweight title against Russian Murat Gassiev, with bTV broadcasting the clash live.

"I like it, but I'm not happy for myself; I'm happy that a Bulgarian can be in this place, on the wall of fame in a country so far from Bulgaria, and that people have recognized him," Pulev commented to bTV.

Ulli Wegner, who molded many of his champions in Zinnowitz, also holds a special place in this boxing mecca.

The 44-year-old Kubrat Pulev secured the WBA regular world title with a victory over Mahmoud Charr in Sofia on December 7th last year.

"The Cobra" boasts a professional record of 35 fights, with 32 wins, 14 by knockout, and only 3 losses.

Gassiev's resume includes 32 wins, 25 of which are by knockout, and 2 losses. He rose to prominence in 2018 during the World Boxing Super Series tournament, where he secured spectacular knockout victories over Yuniel Dorticos and Krzysztof Włodarczyk.

Since transitioning to the heavyweight division, the 32-year-old Russian has amassed a series of impressive stoppage victories – including a fifth-round KO against Kem Ljungquist (2024) and a TKO over Jeremiah Milton in August of this year.
