Oscar Piastri has stated that his relationship with McLaren teammate Lando Norris, with whom he is currently battling for the Formula 1 World Championship, has never been better. With three races and one sprint remaining in the season, Norris leads the standings after winning the last two events, while Piastri sits in second, 24 points adrift.

Current world champion Max Verstappen is third, 49 points behind the leader.

McLaren management maintains a policy of equal opportunities for both drivers, with the sole requirement for Norris and Piastri being to race cleanly on track.

“Our relationship remains good, honestly, perhaps better than ever,” Piastri explained on the Beyond the Grid podcast. “It’s better now because we know each other more. This is our third year as teammates, and we’re slowly getting to know each other.”
“Perhaps on track, there are sometimes fleeting emotions, but we both handle it well, controlling our emotions and understanding that what happens in the race stays on the track and doesn’t affect our relationship.”
“We both try to get the maximum out of the car and working with the team, but that has always been the case.”
