Cadillac's future star, Sergio Perez, clocked an impressive 903 kilometers during a two-day test at Imola, driving a 2023 Ferrari SF-23.
The primary objective of these tests was to foster synergy within the Cadillac team, who collaborated closely with their Ferrari counterparts on the track.
The test was overseen by Charles Leclerc's former race engineer, Xavi Marcos, with the mechanic crew led by Alessandro Fusaro, Leclerc's current chief mechanic at Ferrari.
On the second day, Checo completed 91 laps, covering 447 kilometers. He quickly found his pace from the outset, despite the cool track temperature of around 18 degrees Celsius, and was running on Pirelli's hard compound tires. On day one, Perez completed 99 laps, bringing his two-day total to 190 laps.
During the second day of testing, Perez also executed a longer stint of 24 laps, showcasing consistent performance with an average lap time of nearly 1:22.5 minutes.
The Mexican's best lap was a 1:17.27, though a quick lap attempt wasn't part of his scheduled program. He later explained that he simply wanted to see what he could achieve.
