Chelsea is set to host Barcelona on November 25th, followed by a clash with Arsenal five days later. Palmer, who sustained a groin injury in September, has yet to rejoin team training.
Palmer has missed the last nine matches and will also be unavailable for Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Qarabag. Head coach Maresca stated on October 17th that his key player would be sidelined for approximately six weeks.
When asked if Palmer would be fit to face Barcelona after the international break, Maresca responded on Tuesday: "We hope so, but with Cole, we're trying to schedule his return, which we'll then need to review."
Cole's condition is being assessed day by day. He's not yet participating in team training. Benoit Badiashile will likely be available after the international break, which is fantastic news for us. Honestly, I'd love for Cole to be back tomorrow. We want him to play every game. I've said many times that we're better with Cole. Unfortunately, he's out due to injury, but of course, we want him back as soon as possible.
Maresca commented.
