Erling Haaland is enjoying a stellar season, building on his already impressive tenure in England. The Norwegian striker has netted 26 goals in 16 appearances for both his club and the national team. Over the weekend, he scored twice against Bournemouth, bringing his Premier League tally to 98 goals in just 107 matches for Manchester City.

This puts him on track to reach 100 goals faster than any other player in Premier League history. Given his current pace and young age, Haaland is well-positioned to challenge Alan Shearer's all-time record of 260 goals. "I genuinely don't look at any records, but I am aware of that one," Haaland responded when asked about the record. "However, it's not something I can dwell on. I'm focused on helping the team win games, and I know that sounds boring, and you probably want me to say the complete opposite."

The Norwegian marksman added that he continues to work on improving his game. "I think you can always get better. There are things I try to train, and you can see I'm improving, but I still have a long way to go," Haaland stated, according to AFP. He is set to face his former club, Borussia Dortmund, in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ahead of the match, City manager Pep Guardiola praised his star player's contribution: "I know he wants to score goals, but I feel he always wants the best for the team. And that's hard to find. He has that ability, talent, kindness. That's the best way he can help us."
