Sergio Perez was a special guest at the Mexico City Grand Prix, with his compatriots eagerly anticipating his return to the starting grid next year in a Cadillac car.
The Mexican driver also weighed in on the unique characteristics of Red Bull Racing and the pivotal role Max Verstappen plays within the team, a partnership that has propelled the Dutchman to his Formula 1 successes.
“I don’t like to criticize drivers who have raced for Red Bull,” Perez explained to Sky Sports F1. “Not least because I’ve been in that position myself. I know what every driver competing for Red Bull has to contend with.”
“I managed to survive; Red Bull is a very demanding environment. It’s incredibly tough to be Max’s teammate, but when it comes to Max and Red Bull, there’s a dynamic at play that outsiders simply can’t grasp.”
“No driver can truly survive against Max at Red Bull.”
