Charles Leclerc could only manage seventh in today's Singapore Grand Prix qualifying, admitting he's struggling with car setup, battling severe understeer, and overly aggressive reactions when grip is lost.
"We started well in the first practice session," Charles explained to Canal+. "We had to make some changes to the car, and since then, from the second practice onwards, we've had problems, especially me. I was far behind in both FP2 and FP3. We're not even close to the fastest.
"For the past two weekends, I haven't felt comfortable with the car at all, which is strange because these are street circuits where I'm usually much more confident. We need to understand what's wrong because I'm not performing at the level I should be, and we're losing valuable points.
"I'm really struggling to find grip; the car has very serious understeer and reacts extremely sharply when it loses traction. It's unpredictable, and I don't perform particularly well when I have such strong understeer."
