Manchester United secured a 2-0 victory over Sunderland this Saturday. Following the match, Red Devils' manager Ruben Amorim expressed satisfaction with how his team managed their lead, though he admitted the performance wasn't flawless.

"This was the kind of game where, even when we weren't playing our best, we defended well. We had good moments; we were focused and competitive. It wasn't a perfect game. We were competitive and mature. We need to win these games without conceding. It was good for us," the Portuguese coach began, praising Senne Lammens, the goalkeeper who made his debut for the Red Devils and was one of five new starters after last week's loss to Brentford: "Senne did very well. We need to understand that everyone must be ready to play. It's a long season, we have a number of issues, anything can happen. The important thing is that the team helped Lammens deliver a very good performance."

The coach also lauded Sesko, who scored the second goal and put in a strong display. "He has time; he'll be here for many years. The media puts a lot of pressure on strikers to score goals, but for me, effort is the most important thing. Whenever we kick the ball, he's there fighting for it, which is incredible for us, winning the second ball and buying us time to breathe. I'm very happy about that," he explained.

Despite the win, the performance left a bittersweet taste for Ruben Amorim, as it's not a regular occurrence. "It's frustrating not to have more performances like this. We need to play like this away from home too. It's our responsibility to play this way," he concluded.
