After a long period of resistance, Chelsea has agreed to send Nicolas Jackson on loan to Bayern Munich. Bayern needs a rotation option for Harry Kane, and the Senegalese striker requires more playing time, which he is unlikely to get at Stamford Bridge.
An agreement has been reached, and the 24-year-old forward will move to Munich on a season-long loan. Bayern will pay a €15 million loan fee, cover the striker's entire salary, and have an €80 million purchase option next summer, which includes a sell-on clause for Chelsea.
The €15 million fee paid by the Bundesliga champions for the loan is a record sum for such a deal.
Nicolas Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 for €37 million. He played 81 matches for the Blues, scoring 30 goals. With the English club, he won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Senegalese international had a turbulent time at Stamford Bridge, marked by inconsistent performances and numerous missed chances. With the arrivals of Liam Delap and João Pedro, it became clear he was surplus to requirements in London.
