Fulham forward and Nigeria Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has issued a strong warning to Chelsea ahead of their upcoming Premier League derby clash.

The Blues and the Cottagers go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge in an early kick-off this Saturday as the Premier League continues for the new season.

Both teams enter into the encounter looking to improve on their last performances after dropping points to Crystal Palace and Manchester United respectively.

Speaking ahead of the week three fixture, Iwobi stressed the importance of a strong start and the fierce rivalry between the south-west London clubs.

“A strong start is very important in any game. The last two games, we didn’t start off great, so hopefully we’ve learned from that and make it right today,” Iwobi told the Premier League, highlighting Fulham’s intent to improve early-game performances.

This particular clash has been heated and low scoring in the last six meetings, with the visitors taking all three points in their last visit to Stamford Bridge, with the Nigerian impressing in a 2-1 win.

“When it’s a derby, it all goes out the window,” he added. Any team can win. We both want to fight and prove our point that South-West London is ours. It’s going to be a fiery game, and hopefully we come out on top.”

Chelsea sit fourth on the table while Fulham will hope to move from 13th and above the Blues with a much-needed win, their first of the season.

With local pride at stake, this south-west London derby promises to be a fiercely contested battle as Fulham look to assert dominance over their historic rivals, Chelsea.
