Darwin Nunez has bid farewell to Anfield and Liverpool FC, completing his transfer to Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal.
Despite not fully living up to the high expectations upon his arrival, Nunez earned the respect of some fans with his performances. His departure, however, was deemed necessary, as Liverpool are reportedly preparing a major move for Alexander Isak.
Al-Hilal officially announced the signing of the Uruguayan striker for a fee of €53 million. The 26-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Saudi club, and Liverpool wished him well in his new endeavor.
Liverpool signed Nunez from Benfica in 2022 for €85 million. Although he showed improvement in his second season, he failed to convince Jürgen Klopp, making his departure inevitable. During his time with the Reds, Nunez scored 40 goals and provided 26 assists in 143 appearances, winning a Premier League title, a League Cup, and a Community Shield.
